Special Issue Information

The global energy landscape is undergoing a transformative shift driven by the urgent need for sustainability, efficiency, and resilience. The integration of digital intelligence technologies plays a pivotal role in transforming energy systems across supply, distribution, and demand sides.

The continuous rise in energy demand, diversification of the energy mix, and the proliferation of various distributed energy resources significantly increase the complexities of modern energy systems. Advanced digital and smart technologies, such as artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and other digital innovations, are crucial for energy system planning, design, and management. These technologies address challenges emerging from renewable energy integration, power transmission and distribution, system interoperability, and supply-demand balancing. Additionally, policy, economic, and regulatory dimensions underpin the digital transformation towards energy and carbon neutrality. Therefore, it is of significant research importance to explore and promote the innovative utilization of digital intelligence technologies in energy-related disciplines.

This special issue aims to explore novel ideas, methods, and technologies that contribute to the continuous and healthy development and practical applications of digital intelligence technologies for energy systems. By bridging the gaps between academic research, technology development, and industrial applications, this issue seeks to inspire and guide ongoing efforts to harness the full potential of digital intelligence in the energy sector.
