Dr. Chaoliang Tan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityU), HKSAR, China. He received his PhD degree from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2016. After working as a Research Fellow in the same place for about one year, then he worked as a Postdoc Research Fellow at University of California, Berkeley for two years. He was an Assistant Professor at City University of Hong Kong from 2020 to 2023 before joining HKU. His current research interests are highly interdisciplinary including 2D materials, electronics, optoelectronics, neuromorphic devices, biomaterials and nanomedicine. He has authored or co-authored over 180 SCI papers (40 ESI Highly Cited Papers) on journals like Nature, Nat. Nanotechnol., Nat. Mater., Nat. Chem., Nat. Catal., Nat. Rev. Mater., Nat. Rev. Chem., Nat. Commun., Chem. Rev., Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., etc. The total citation of his published papers is over 31,000 with a H-index of 81. Among them, more than 90 are first-authored or corresponding-authored papers. He has been elected as a Fellow of International Association of Advanced Materials (FIAAM) in 2024.
