Dr. Ren is a scientist in the field of renewable energy. He has conducted pioneering research on functional photocatalytic, electrocatalytic, and thermocatalytic materials for renewable solar, mechanical, and thermal energy harvesting and utilization, as well as carbon capture, utilization, and storage. Dr. Ren has further integrated these processes into the development of next-generation high-performance battery and supercapacitor-based energy storage devices, significantly enhancing energy storage and conversion efficiency. Dr. Ren has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal papers, with over 40 as the first or corresponding author. Dr. Ren's research extends beyond theoretical studies, actively translating laboratory findings into practical applications. His high-efficiency electro/photocatalysts have demonstrated remarkable performance in hydrogen production through water splitting and environmental purification. His electrocatalytic materials show superior performance in fuel cells and metal-air batteries.
