Dr. Weihua Li is a Senior Professor of Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Wollongong. He completed his PhD (2001) at Nanyang Technological University, and MEng (1995) & BEng (1992) from University of Science & Technological of China. He was with the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of NTU as a Research Fellow from 2001 to 2003, before he joined the School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic & Biomedical Engineering as a Lecturer. His research focuses on smart materials and their applications, microfluidics, Lab on a Chip, and intelligent mechatronics. He serves as Specialty Chief Editor, Associate Editor or Editorial Board Member for more than ten international journals. He has published > 550 journal and conference papers with an h-index of 91 (Google Scholar). He is a recipient of Fellow of Engineers Australia, Fellow of the Institute of Physics (UK), JSPS Invitation Fellowship, Australian Endeavour Fellowship, Vice-Chancellor's Award for Researcher of the Year, Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Research Supervision, Vice-Chancellor's Award for Interdisciplinary Research Excellence and numerous Best Paper Awards.
