Professor Dawei Zhang is a professor at the Academy of New Materials Technology at Beijing University of Science and Technology. He serves as the Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Executive Deputy Director of the National Center for Materials Corrosion and Protection Science Data, and Deputy Director of the Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Materials Genome Engineering. Additionally, he is the Chair of the International Advisory Committee of the American Society for Materials Performance and Protection, an Associate Editor of Corrosion Science, and serves on the editorial boards of ten international journals, including MGE Advances and npj Materials Degradation. He is also the global convener for ISO in the field of microbial corrosion. Professor Zhang's research primarily focuses on intelligent corrosion-resistant materials technology, including smart anti-corrosion coatings, microbial corrosion and protection, and AI-driven corrosion-resistant material design. He has published over 200 SCI papers, which have been cited more than 13,000 times, resulting in an H-index of 60. He has been recognized as a national-level young talent and elected as a Fellow of the American Society for Materials Performance and Protection. He received the First Prize for the Materials Genome Engineering Young Scientist Award and, as the principal investigator, the First Prize of the Natural Science Award from the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection. In 2023, he was named a Highly Cited Researcher in China.
