Dr. Kun Li is the Distinguished Professor of "Hongshen Young Scholars" at Chongqing University, PhD supervisor, director of High-performance intelligent Additive Manufacturing (HπAM) Lab, associate chairman of Chongqing Key Laboratory of Metal Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing). Dr. Li obtained Bachelor degree from Jilin University, obtained Philosophy degree from Tsinghua University. In February 2017, he went to the University of Texas at El Paso for postdoctoral research and served as Prof. Lawrence E. Murr's (The pioneer in additive manufacturing in the USA) PhD co supervisor. In April 2019, he was appointed as a senior researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, University of Pittsburgh. In August 2020, he was hired as a "Hongshen Young Scholar" distinguished professor and PhD supervisor of Chongqing University, engaged in teaching and research work. Mainly engaged on advanced micro/nano-manufacturing and laser technologies, and material computation. He has published more than 100 papers in famous journals and conferences such as AM, Small,JMST, etc., positively cited by scholars more than 3,600 times from many countries. Selected as one of the top 2% scientists in the world for many consecutive years (2022-2024). Served as the reviewer of famous journals in the fields of Nature Communications, Acta Materialia, Materials Research Lettersand other fields. He has participated in many projects such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, the International Cooperation Projects with USA, with the total project funding exceeded 50 million. His scientific research achievements won the Houston Space Agency Technology Application Award (the only Chinese winner of the year), the Researcher Award of the University of Texas, ICCES2024 Outstanding Young Researcher Award, etc.
