Professor Zhang Xing is a faculty member at the School of Aerospace Engineering, Tsinghua University. His research areas include the thermal properties of micro- and nanomaterials, micro- and nanoscale flow and heat transfer, enhanced heat transfer technologies, energy-efficient technologies, and the efficient utilization of hydrogen, wind, and solar energy.
He holds several prominent roles, including Vice President of the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics and Chair of its Heat and Mass Transfer Division, Chair of the Thermophysical Properties Committee of the China Metrology and Testing Society, President of the Asian Union of Thermal Science and Engineering, Executive Board Member and Scientific Council Member of the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer (ICHMT), Chair of the Executive Committee of the International Heat Transfer Conference, and Associate Editor or Editorial Board Member of multiple leading domestic and international journals. Professor Zhang has received numerous prestigious awards, such as the Academic Award of the Japan Society of Heat Transfer, the International Achievement Award of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (Thermal Engineering Division), the Hartnett-Irvine Award from the ICHMT, the First Prize in Natural Science from the Ministry of Education of China, the Outstanding Contribution Award in Asian Thermophysical Properties Research, and the State Natural Science Award (Second Class).
He has published over 400 papers in top-tier journals, including Science, Physical Review Letters, and Nature sub-journals. For eight consecutive years, he has been recognized as a "Highly Cited Chinese Researcher" by Elsevier.
