Dr. Jianli Chen is currently working as an Associate Professor at the College of Civil Engineering, Tongji University. Being an interdisciplinary researcher, his research is dedicated to improving building and urban intelligence to achieve sustainability, resilience, and human-centric service using sensing and automation techniques. He is currently leading multiple projects supported by US National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, National Institute for Transportation and Communities etc. Prior to joining the University of Utah, he worked as a Post-doc in the US National Renewable Energy Lab and led several tasks in high-profile Department of Energy (DOE) projects for Grid-interactive Efficient Building development. Dr. Chen is an active member in ASHRAE, ASCE, and serving on the organization committee of several international conferences.
