Special Interview with Professor Hans-Georg Rammensee - Renowned Immunologist and Trailblazer in Personalized Cancer Vaccines
On June 17, 2025, the Editorial Office of Ageing and Cancer Research & Treatment (ACRT) had the honor of interviewing Professor Hans-Georg Rammensee, a distinguished Advisory Editor of the journal and a globally recognized expert in tumor immunology from the University of Tübingen, Germany.
As one of the founding figures in German cancer immunology, Professor Rammensee has spent decades shaping our understanding of antigen presentation and spearheading the development of personalized cancer vaccines.
In this in-depth conversation, he shared his motivation and process of devoting himself to cancer immunity, as well as the many experiences he witnessed with patients while working in the hospital, which sparked his interest. He also analyzed the obstacles encountered in clinical practice in the future of cancer immunity.
