Professor Jun Zhu is currently the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University, and Leader of the Sichuan Provincial Youth Science and Technology Innovation Research Team on "Remote Sensing Monitoring and Disaster Emergency Response". He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Space and Earth Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong from August 2007 to July 2008. He received a doctorate of science from the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2006. He is mainly engaged in research and teaching in three-dimensional geographic information systems and virtual geographic environments. He has led 2 national key research and development projects and 5 national natural science foundation projects, published over 170 academic papers.
