Masood Masoodian is a Professor of Visual Communication Design in the School of Arts, Design and Architecture at Aalto University. He gained a PhD in 1997 from the University of Waikato, New Zealand. He leads the Aalto Visual Communication Design (AVCD) research group in the Department of Art and Media. He is the founding chair of the IFIP Technical Committee 13 Working Group on Human-Centred Technology for Sustainability. His research interests focus mainly on investigating the role of visual design and visualizations in addressing a wide range of societal challenges such as environmental crises, ageing populations, public health and well-being. He has coordinated and participated in numerous nationally and internationally funded research projects, and published nearly 200 peer-reviewed research journal articles and conference papers.
