JBDE Youth Editorial Board Recruitment

To further support the development of young academic talent and enhance the international influence of the Journal of Building Design and Environment (JBDE), we are officially launching a global recruitment initiative for our Youth Editorial Board. We warmly invite outstanding early-career researchers with a solid academic foundation and an international perspective in architecture and building environmental studies to join the JBDE Youth Editorial Board. Together, we aim to promote high-quality development of the journal and build an open, innovative, and globally influential academic exchange platform.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Generally under 45 years old;
2. PhD holder;
3. Sustained contributions and recognition in one or more of the following fields:
• Building science and engineering technology
• Smart construction and digital design
• High-performance building materials and structural systems
• Building energy efficiency and environmental control technologies
• Indoor environment and human health
• Integration of renewable energy systems in buildings
• Artificial intelligence in building systems management
• Life-cycle assessment and environmental impact analysis of buildings
• Intelligent and net-zero energy building solutions
• Building envelope and façade systems
4. At least 10 high-quality academic papers published in internationally recognized journals as first author or corresponding author in the past three years;
5. Prior experience in journal editing, conference organization, or active participation in academic communities is preferred;
6. Outstanding JBDE authors or reviewers will be given priority consideration.

Responsibilities:
1. Peer Review: Participate in the peer review process to ensure professionalism, fairness, and efficiency in manuscript evaluations;
2. Manuscript Contribution & Recommendation: Submit manuscripts based on your expertise and recommend high-quality research to enhance the journal’s academic value;
3. Academic Engagement: Participate in JBDE-organized academic events such as conferences, webinars, and author talks to foster academic collaboration;
4. Special Issue and Feature Column Development: Propose Special Issue topics and participate in their planning and execution to strengthen the journal’s scholarly leadership;
5. Promotion: Leverage personal academic networks and social media to increase the visibility and global reach of the journal.
