Inaugural Editorial Board Meeting of the Journal of Building Design and Environment Successfully Held Online

On May 17, 2024, the inaugural Editorial Board meeting of the Journal of Building Design and Environment (JBDE) was successfully held. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Limao Zhang, the Editor-in-Chief of JBDE, and attended by 23 Editorial Board members. The primary focus of the meeting was to review the journal's past achievements and outline future development plans.

 

The agenda of the meeting was as follows:

● Opening remarks by the Editor-in-Chief; 
● Introduction of each attending Editorial Board member, including their names, affiliations, and research interests; 
● Summary of the journal's achievements in 2023; 
● Acknowledgment of the contributions made by Editorial Board members to the journal's progress; 
● Future development plans for JBDE in areas such as publication strategies, special content, and database inclusion; 
● Open discussion.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome address from Prof. Zhang, who invited each Editorial Board member to introduce themselves briefly. Following the introductions, the editorial team presented a report highlighting the journal's major accomplishments in 2023.

During the acknowledgment segment, the editorial team expressed deep gratitude to the Editorial Board members who have made significant contributions to the journal's progress. Special appreciation was extended to Prof. Qingming Zhan, Prof. Teng Shao, Dr. Cihan Turhan, and Dr. Mawada Abdellatif for their outstanding contributions. Subsequently, the editorial team shared the journal's future plans and encouraged more active involvement from the Editorial Board in the journal's development.

Prof. Zhang then provided a concise summary of the meeting. He emphasized the importance of support and commitment from the Editorial Board during the early stages of the journal's development, a call that was met with enthusiastic responses from the attending members. In the subsequent open discussion session, the Board members engaged in an in-depth discussion. Many constructive suggestions were made, and members pledged their firm support for the journal's future growth.

Finally, Prof. Zhang and the editorial team once again expressed their heartfelt thanks to all the attending Editorial Board members for their valuable insights and contributions towards the journal's future development. We are confident that with the strong support of our Editorial Board and the collective effort of all involved, we can establish JBDE as a leading international academic journal with broad influence.
