On September 19, 2025, Stanford University, in collaboration with the internationally renowned academic publisher Elsevier, officially released the latest edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists List (2025). This list, updated based on the most recent data from the Scopus database, enjoys wide international influence and strong academic credibility, serving as an important reference for evaluating researchers’ scholarly contributions and impact. The list covers approximately 7 million scientists worldwide and is divided into two categories: Career-Long Impact: assessing the overall research contributions of scientists throughout their careers; Single-Year Impact: focusing on academic output and influence in the most recent year.

Evaluation metrics include total citations, H-index, co-author-adjusted HM-index, citations by authorship position, influence metrics excluding self-citations, and the composite C-score. The list also classifies scientists according to the Science-Metrix classification system, covering 22 major fields and 174 subfields, fully reflecting the academic impact of researchers within their respective disciplines.

In the 2025 edition, 41 members of the Journal of Building Design and Environment (JBDE) Editorial Board were honored with inclusion on this prestigious list.
