Special Issue Information

The construction industry is undergoing a transformation, with advancements in materials, structures, and geotechnical engineering playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of infrastructure development. Innovations in construction materials, such as high-performance concrete, sustainable composites, and advanced alloys, are revolutionising the way buildings and infrastructure are designed and constructed. At the same time, cutting-edge structural engineering methods and technologies, including computational modelling, structural health monitoring, and adaptive design, are improving the efficiency, durability, and safety of structures. Furthermore, geotechnical engineering continues to evolve, with the development of new soil stabilization techniques, improved foundation systems, and advanced tunnelling technologies.

This Special Issue (SI) aims to present the latest research and advancements in construction materials, structural design, and geotechnical engineering. It will explore novel materials that enhance performance, durability, and cost-efficiency, alongside innovative structural solutions that offer improved safety and resilience. Additionally, the SI will focus on developments in geotechnical engineering that address challenges related to soil behavior, foundation design, and environmental impacts in construction.

As the demands for infrastructure increase, the importance of incorporating innovative materials and design solutions becomes even more critical. This SI will contribute to advancing the knowledge in these areas and provide valuable insights into the latest technological breakthroughs. The collaboration of researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers will be key to advancing the next generation of construction practices.
